MEERU APROXIMA

Relationships of friendship, affection and trust between local people and refugee and migrant families.

MEERU APROXIMA

With the aim of fighting social isolation of migrant and refugee families and asylum seekers, MEERU Aproxima promotes the creation of deep relationships based on genuine bonds of affection and belonging.

Our volunteers become part of a Proximity Team that, side by side with each family, carry out Proximity Meetings. Volunteers and families undergo an 8-month commitment with MEERU, with the aim of creating open-ended relationships that last beyond that time frame.

To be a MEERU volunteer is to not really feel like a volunteer, literally. We are friends who visit each other, who care about each other, who spend time together.
